The maintenance of the lights installed along the footpath that runs from the Old School House, along side the stream to the village hall, has been a problem for some time. Persistent vandalism meant that their condition became irreparable and the lights were switched off in 2019.
The parish council investigated the possibility of installing vandal-proof lighting. With estimated costs of around £15,000 the council agreed that the expenditure could not be justified. No complaints had been received since the lights were turned off.
Therefore it was agreed, in June 2020, that the lights should be disconnected and removed.
The maintenance of the footpath is the responsibility of Chichester District Council
