D-Day 80 Beacon Lighting
Thursday 6 June 2024 at 9.15pm
To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the DDay landings, the Parish will be joining the chain of 1500 other Beacons lit across the UK, Channel Isles and Isle of Man. Beacons will also be lit in UK Oversea Territories and on the shorelines of Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword beaches in Normandy France.
The lights from the Beacons will represent the ‘light of peace’ that emerged from the darkness of war.
The Beacon will be lit on Harting Down at 9.15pm. Please join us on the hill or view from your garden or another local viewpoint.
